The chef/owner of Écume [ekyme] offers distinctly French food for both lunch and dinner in a warm setting in the heart of Itaewon. 

The dinner menu offers a large-sized NY Strip steak grilled in a blue cheese sauce, a strip loin steak with crushed black pepper, served in a red wine/shitake mushroom sauce.  Order the set menu and also have soup, a small side salad and coffee/tea, all for 25,000 won. 

The dinner menu also features a beef filet with a red wine chocolate sauce for 35,000 won, ala carte, several types of seafood linguine (23,000 won), a ricotta stuffed chicken breast in a warm basil sauce (25,000 won) as well as a variety of mussel dishes at 14,000 to 15,000 won.   Try the moules mariniere in a white wine broth, or the moule au moutard L'anciennes (whole grain mustard cream sauce).  For dessert, the profiteroles (7,000 won) with vanilla ice cream are outstanding. 

The lunch menu features the same steak sets as above, but with side salad and coffee/tea for a reasonable 19,000 won.  All prices +VAT

Walk out of Exit 1 and proceed straight for about 100 meters, past the KFC, Nike and Samsonite stores.  At the third alleyway, make a right and walk up another 20 meters.  Across from La Plancha and right down from Le Saint-Ex, on the right side of the street.
