Nominations Open for 2010-11 National Council open until September 10th! If want to expand your social and professional networks, a volunteer position with the KOTESOL executive may be for you. Details are as follows: Why is KOTESOL important to you, as a member? Being a KOTESOL member can be a very rewarding professional experience. We are not only an association through which you can become educated, you can also work on your organization, leadership, and communication skills. Networking is another benefit, as KOTESOL fosters relationships between not only expat and Korean teachers within the country, but also with education professionals worldwide! Are you qualified? The only strict qualification you need to be a member of the national executive is that you must have been a KOTESOL member in good standing for at least 12 months prior to you seeking nomination. If you haven’t been a KOTESOL member for one year by that time, don’t worry. There are many other non-elected roles that you could apply or volunteer for either at the national or chapter level. Talk to your local chapter officers for details. How do I go about nominating myself or others? Each position is open to the general membership for self-nomination or nomination of another. Please submit early to benefit from publicity in both The English Connection and online. Candidates must submit: 1) Application, including personal statement, 2) Two short letters of support from current KOTESOL members (can be emailed to Joshua Davies), 3) Email agreeing to Code of Campaign Conduct (see application form for details).
