Based on a webtoon (comics release on the web), The Moss is a movie about a man who visits a remote village to attend his father's funeral. After father's funeral, Haegook declares to the village people his intention to stay which is received with tension. However, the villagers attitude turns drastically with the blessing from the village elder for Haegook to stay. The movie unfolds the mysteries surrounding the little village and its charismatic elder as Haegook learns of its secrets.
The Moss is directed by one of the best known directors in Korea, Woo Seok Kang. Due to the immense popularity and the praises for the webtoon, good things are expected from the movie as well. But also due to the popularity of the webtoon, the director has stated that the movie explores its own plot line as well.
A word of warning: don't chug down your super-sized coke too soon as this movie's running time is 160 minutes.
The English subtitled version will play at CGV multiplex in Yongsan, Myeongdong, Gangnam and Guro starting on July 16th.
