Adding Resume
Alexis
I went to your FAQ #8 for adding a resume, but on my profile I am listed
as a recruiter so it wants me to edit company info. I don't know how to change it. What should/can I do? Thank you. BTW - like the look of the new website.

Hello! Can anyone help me? How can I make my profile private and only for recruiters? I have been getting strange phone calls. One man was a bit creepy.
Thank you!

Unwanted Phone Calls
Danny B
Hi Gina:

Unfortunately, you always need to be careful when posting private information on line, and sadly HiExpat.com is no exception to the world of Internet trolls...

Your best bet would be to either (1) remove you phone number, and insist on email as the method of communication from recruiters; or (2) contact recruiters directly through their postings at www.hiexpat.com/jobs, instead of asking them to contact you.

We regret the inconvenience you've had, and hope that you'll continue to use us as your first destination in your job search in Korea!

Good luck,

DanB

Adding photo for recruiters
Teri Foster
Hi,

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, however I can't seem to upload my photo for recruiter/potential employer view. My resume is published, but photo fails to do so. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

TSF

Photo Uploads
Danny B
Hi Teri:

There could be a variety of reasons why the Expat resume photo is not uploading properly.

After you upload your resume, click on the "photo" tab in the table of the page that follows.

A couple of quick suggestions:

1. Are you using a photo that is too big? Some extremely large photos will not upload to the site, so try to shrink down the size of the photo and see if that helps.

2. Are you using a jpeg, jpg, gif, or other photo based file? Some photos that have odd extensions may not upload properly to the site.

3. What does the photo look like? I had a similar problem, but later discovered that the reason my photo was not uploading was because it was just too handsome. I chose a photo that was not as misleading in terms of my looks, and the site finally accepted it. smilies/wink.gif

If you tell me more about what happens when you try to upload, I can provide some better advice. If you'd like real-time help, click on the "Chat With Support" button at the very very top of this page at any time from 10 to 4 during the week, and we can walk you through the step by step process.

Good luck!

It worked!!...thanks
Teri Foster
I decided to use option #3 from your list of possible scenarios. I managed to find a "less striking photo (though hard as I am a photographing machine! I think my initial problem is that I am JUST TOO STRIKINGLY GORGEOUS!!smilies/grin.gif After reading your response, I decided to take your advice and used a photo that shows me for the "but-ugly" person that I really am! It's ALL good now-and it is now posted!

Thanks man...you rock!

Toodles,

Teri

.Uploading pictures
Sharon
My photos won't upload in my advertisements (it seems many sellers are experiencing this problem) My pictures are in a JPEG format and not too big in size, but each time I press 'okay' after uploading the pictures, I am faced with the 'refresh page'. Grrrr smilies/sad.gif
