Is North Korea preparing to nuke the South? Why is it so hard to find a good dance floor AND hamburger in Busan? Is Putin’s daughter really dating a Korean admiral? Where can I see a video of a Korean grandma punching out a teenager?
In Korea, on the most difficult task for a foreigner is finding updated and interactive English-language news, answers and perspective from credible sources. At the same time, this dearth of sources has allowed the English-language blogosphere to flourish. The topics range far and wide, from politics and society, teaching and literature to food and film…and much more.
We’ve gotten together with Groove Korea Magazine to create a contest to better expose you to bloggers that provide the best access to a foreigner perspective on news, life and society in Korea!
Vote on your favorite and most valuable blogger below, and help them win the following, courtesy of HiExpat.com and Groove:
-- 1st Place: A featured article and bio on the winner, with professional photos, in Groove Korea's February edition! (At least) One free round with the HiExpat team at the Seoul or Busan bar/pub of the Blogger’s choice.
-- 2nd Place: 100,000 won in gift certificates from our REAL good friends at the Wolfhound! (50,000 in the brand-spanking new Wolfhound Busan and 50,000 for Wolfhound Itaewon)
-- 3rd Place: 50,000 won in gift certificates from our other good buddies at Memphis King BBQ
-- 4th Place: (At least) One free round with the HiExpat team at the Seoul or Busan bar/pub of the Blogger’s choice.
We’ve included the names of each blog and a link below with a short description – whether you vote or not, we encourage you to visit these sites to help you through (or prepare for) your time in Korea, wherever you may be based and for however long you might be there, you lifer you!
The Poll shall close on January 21st, and "our" decisions are final.

Did we leave your fav blogito off the list above? Write us directly at danb (at) hiexpat.com and we’ll add it if it has more than 10 hits a month, hasn't turned pro and we consider it in our subjective, misinformed and self-centered opinions to be worthy of the bytes it takes to publish.
