seafood and green onion pancake (해물파전)
I briefly talked about traditional Korean bars here. While that place may have had the better-tasting booze, this place has the better food. A friend of a buddy of mine was in town visiting Korea for the first time and we wanted to give him the full Korean experience. After samgyeopsal and soju for dinner we decided to go ...

Todai is a seafood/sushi buffet chain with locations all over the world. It's one of the more pricier sushi buffets costing 34,000 + VAT a head on dinner and weekends. A buddy of mine was having his kid's first birthday party or 돌잔치 there. I've been to other sushi buffets, but this was my first time at Todai.
sushi! It was Todai for... (sorry) well... not ...

at Gangnam Station exit 11
I love doing street food reviews, but the street food scene in the Gangnam Station area is pretty unremarkable compared to street food meccas like Jongno/Insadong, Noryangjin, and Dongdaemun. Just your run of the mill ddeokbokki stands, hot dog carts, fish jerky, etc. The typical stuff. One particular stand caught my interest a little while ...

serious about pies
This is an Aussie meat pie chain that's been around in Korea for about a year or so. I was walking around Gangnam and I noticed they had opened a location there, so I decided to check them out. The first and last time I had a meat pie was years ago when I tried out the Aussie Shop in Itaewon. I remember them being pretty good, but nothing too special. &n ...

they got a patio too
This is a great new burger joint in the Apgujeong area. The owner is Sohl Kim, who is actually a frequent commenter on this site. He was running the floor when we visited, so we even got to talk with him a bit. He was very friendly, attentive, and open to feedback. Best of all, the guy really seems to know his food. He's worked in kitchens ...

15,500 Tanukidon
I've been meaning to try this place out for a while. This place specializes in donburi (obviously), which is essentially rice with toppings. Every time I've tried to go here there was always a long line out the door. We went a little later this time (8:30ish) and we still had to wait. It was a full house, but there was nobody else waiting, so w ...

Normally 2,500 for the wrap and drink, but 1+1 thanks to Kakao Talk
BK has recently jumped on the chicken wrap bandwagon. I had a buy 1 get 1 free e-coupon from Kakao Talk, so I decided to try them out. It's basically the same as McD's chicken wrap, minus a piece of bacon. A 6-inch tortilla, lettuce, honey mustard, and a piece of boneless fried chicken. These things ...

Some mini reviews on different menu items that I've tried at places that I've already covered. If you wanna read the older reviews, just click on the restaurant name.

fucking delicious
I finally got to hit this place up again with a bigger group. We got the chicken stew, which was awesome as usual, but this time we also got the gamja jeon (감자전) or potato panca ...

they do the juggling cocktail shows here too
This is for all the boozers in the Gangnam area. This is a cocktail bar that offers unlimited cocktails for 15,000 a head. Unlike Brand Nu, where they limit the cocktail time to an hour, this deal is available from 7pm-2am. Needless to say, I got pretty shitfaced this night.
our first round
I've actually been here bef ...

meh...
This chain has been around in Korea for a while. It's actually a Canadian chain which explains why I've never seen these places around in the States. To any Canadian readers, is this place popular back in Canada? I remember eating here way back in the day and it was nothing special. I actually went this time because my coworker insisted we go and that he'd pay ...
